The Story:
When I visited Costa Rica, I was astonished by the natural beauty of the country and shocked by seeing first hand the dangers that the natural world faces. So I decided to volunteer for a while in a turtle reserve in Parismina where they rescue turtle eggs from poachers and care for them until they hatch. The work involves patrolling the beach every night looking for turtles laying their eggs and collect them before the poachers arrive. This work is extremely hard and I was very touched to see how much care, hope and purpose everybody in the organisation had. So I offered to create an illustration for their merchandising and a poster pro bono as a way to contribute to their cause.
